Cement Fountain Sculpture

This is another of my sculpture peices from the first part of summer classes. It has a wire frame, wrapped in wire mesh with a plastic tube running through it that attatches to a fountain pump. then it was covered in several layers of cement. The base is just a foam dish bought at a hardware store for catching water under plant pots, with stones and fake ivy in it. The water flows from the cest into the claws (sort of a bleeding heart thing) I really enjoyed the cement and would like to play with it more sometime I think if I work with it more I could get better with it, but this didn't turn out too bad. I don't actually have the fountain running in these photos but it does work which was a pleasant suprise for me because it was somthing I wasn't sure I could pull off.
