Cosmic Serpents

In meditation I once had a vision, I had gone into a cavern underground, animals of all sorts were gathered around in a circle both preditor and prey, in the center there was a single egg, coiled around the egg were many snakes, it struck me that that snakes were drawn not just to protect the egg, but because of the warmth comeing from the egg... as the egg hatched fire emerged, it was the egg of a pheonix! The fire didn't seem to harm the snakes however some of their scales began to grow and change, they turned into the wings of butterflies.

later while looking for a symbol online (I forget what) I came across another symbol, It was alot like what I saw in my dream... A serpent coiled around an egg, this is a Greek symbol sometimes refered to as Cosmic egg, it is a symbol representing the world being protected by a cosmic serpent

anyways its been quite a while since I "saw" this image and they symbol, however I've been meaning to draw it ever since, so I sketched this out and colored it with photoshop, I may do more with it later. Anyways if you've seen my other works with snakes that have butterfly wings and wondered were in the world that idea came from, now you know! it came from my crazy brain!
