Wild Road One For Sorrow and Loves a Dustbin

The Wild Road Novel by Gabriel King: There is a fox and a magpie character that help the main character, a cat named Tag, in his journeys.  The Magpies name is "One for Sorrow" and the Fox's name is "Loves a Dustbin" All the animals transform when they travel on the wild roads, and One for Sorrow is no exception, he seems to take on pheonix like abilities, there is one point in the book when they all think he is dead after a daring attack on the enemies. Loves a Dustbin is extremely happy when they find out he is still alive
